Before you head off to that 8 a.m. (or even 10 a.m.), you usually don’t have much time to get ready in the mornings. Let’s be real here; oftentimes you don’t even really feel like putting on makeup. So, I’ll go through a quick makeup routine that’s simple and fairly easy.
To even out your skin tone and cover up blemishes, this Marc Jacobs foundation should do the trick. It is lightweight and goes on very smoothly (unlike some foundations that make you feel like you’re wearing another thick layer on your face). Just take a beauty blender and apply quickly.
Cover up those dark circles that say, “I didn’t get enough sleep last night.” Applying dark circle concealer actually makes a great difference, so it’s an important step in your makeup routine. Plus, it will only take 30 seconds or so to apply.
Stila’s waterproof eyeliner is my all-time favorite. It is magical, lasting you the entire day (unless you rub your eyes of course). This will define your eyes and hopefully make you look more awake. Add on some thin lines and wings, and you’re all set.
Tip: When you mess up (the wing is hard to get right), pump a little lotion on a Q-tip and use this to wipe away your mistakes. Lotion does wonders in erasing waterproof makeup.
Next, curl your eyelashes and apply mascara. I personally have not been blessed with long eyelashes, so I like to use the Lancome CILS Booster (it is basically primer for your mascara) first for extra volume. Then, I proceed onto using Benefit’s They’re Real! mascara. I recommend this mascara because it does not smear as much as other products.
Tip: I learned this trick from a friend-- if your mascara clumps, don’t fret. Use a toothpick to separate your clumped eyelashes.
For a little sparkle, apply NYX’s Jumbo Eye Pencil in the color Yogurt to the inner corners of your eyes. This is a step you can skip if you don’t have enough time.
Finally, I do my brows last in case I run out of time. Anastasia’s Brow Wiz is a popular choice because it is easy to apply and keeps your brows looking natural.
… And you’re done! With practice, you’ll get faster and faster at executing your makeup routine.
Now it’s time for you to rush off to class.
